Lime Mortar Supply
We are now pleased to be able to offer pre-mixed, ready to use lime mortar.
Using our considerable experience of working with Lime Mortar, we will mix and deliver any quantity required, or if storage space is limited, we will come to your site and mix it for you. We are able to colour match to the existing mortar, enabling a seamless joint between new and old mortar.

Building with Lime Mortar
Traditionally buildings were constructed using Lime mortar to bond the stone (a mixture of lime with either, sand, clay, slag etc). If you are carrying out a renovation project or your Building is Listed, it is vital that you use the correct mortar, not just for the effect, but for the buildings wellbeing.
Todays cement mortars are not suitable for building with stone, as the mortar is in most cases harder than the stone and may cause the wall to crack. Lime mortar allows buildings to breathe and moisture to evaporate as quickly as it may enter (unlike cement based mortars), for that reason they are regarded as more environmentaly friendly and aesthetically pleasing than modern mortars.
